Alchemy Accounting Services was started in 2018 with the single-minded purpose of providing affordable, yet accurate and simple, bookkeeping, tax, and payroll services to small businesses and individuals. Melanie Haley, owner and Accountant, has over 25 years of experience in the Accounting industry. She started her career in Accounting in 1997 as a staff accountant with a large, multi-state general contractor while earning her A.A.S. degree in Accounting from Chattanooga State. She spent the next 6 years working her way up through the accounting department by providing excellent services to her organization which included AP, AR, Job Costing, Payroll, Tax, GL maintenance, Month/Year-end closings, and more. In 2004, Melanie was promoted to Corporate Accounting Manager, a role in which she trained and mentored, directly and indirectly, a staff of up to 23 managers and accountants. During her 14 years in that role, she was responsible for the timely and accurate processing of the books for multiple companies and divisions which consolidated at one point to a billion dollars of annual revenue. In 2015, Melanie earned her B.S. degree in Business Management focused in Leadership from Bryan College, which furthered her abilities as a leader in the organization. In 2018, Melanie was presented opportunities to help friends, with start-up businesses, create and maintain their books. This reignited her passion for true accounting work and helping others gain value from seamless and accurate books and thus her venture as Alchemy Accounting Services.
